I'm Andy
For the last 7 years of my life I've been a high school teacher. For a lot longer than that I have been a musician. Sometimes those two things intersect because I teach music, but I also teach philosophy.
I'm very interested in how people learn, and what that means for classrooms in formal education. There are many things that I like about schooling and there are a lot of things that I equally do not like, and I hope that this website will give me an opportunity to voice my thoughts on all of these things.
I am a revolutionary socialist, and a member of Socialist Alternative. Australia's largest revolutionary Marxist organisation.
For a while I played in a band called Melaleuca, who played their last show in 2025. Currently I occasionaly play guitar or drums for my friend Leevai. I might start another band in the future, but only when the time is right.
